Alison Becker is a comedian, actor, writer, and improv and sketch comedy performer who has appeared in sketches on Human Giant, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and The Colbert Report. She currently hosts the Vh1 Top 20 Video Countdown every week, and she plays Becky in the new IFC improvised comedy Z Rock. She has been on three house teams at New York's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB) and has an arsenal of original sketch comedy characters. She was a cast member on MTV's Boiling Points for the show's entire run and has appeared on Comedy Central, Fuse, NBC, AMC, and more. Alison grew up in Allamuchy, NJ, a teeny, tiny township filled with farms and creeks, that still has its Lenape Indian name. When she was 14, Alison moved to Switzerland for two years and then came back to the States. After high school, she attended Wake Forest University and then transferred to Georgetown University, where she learned that there are other people in the world who love grammar as much as she. At school, she was cast in the Georgetown Players Improv Troupe, a comedy troupe with an unimaginative name that opened her eyes to the self-indulgent wonders of comedy. She graduated from Georgetown, cum laude (that's Latin), and came (eventually) to New York City, where she now lives.
